Mental Health Division

The Mental Health Division is at the heart of MEF’s mission, ensuring that mental health services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to community needs. It operates under six major programs:

  • Mental Health Awareness & Promotion:
MEF engages in large-scale awareness campaigns targeting schools, workplaces, corporate institutions, and communities. Through interactive sessions, media engagement, and workshops, we educate individuals on the importance of mental health, how to recognize warning signs, and how to seek help.

  • Advocacy for Mental Health Inclusion:
We work with policymakers, religious groups, and local leaders to push for policies that integrate mental health into general healthcare, education, and social services. This includes lobbying for mental health funding, fighting against stigma, and ensuring workplaces adopt mental health-friendly policies.

  • Screening, Management & Referral for Care:
Our community-based mental health screening initiatives identify individuals struggling with mental health conditions. We offer initial assessments and connect patients with specialists for further diagnosis, therapy, or psychiatric intervention. We also provide ongoing follow-ups to ensure continuity of care.

  • Digital Mental Health Solutions:
In the digital era, MEF is pioneering mental health accessibility through telemedicine platforms, online therapy, and self-help applications. We develop user-friendly tools that provide psychoeducation, guided self-help techniques, and remote access to professional counselors.

  • Trauma Healing & Psychosocial Support:
MEF supports individuals dealing with trauma, including survivors of abuse, violence, and other distressing events. Our programs focus on building resilience, providing professional counseling, and offering peer support groups.

  • Long-term Mental Health Facility Development:
Recognizing the shortage of mental health facilities, MEF is working towards establishing dedicated rehabilitation centers that provide therapy, psychiatric care, and long-term recovery support for individuals with severe mental illnesses.
